Tournament begins in November

One of the most awaited moments of any World Cup is getting closer and closer: the Opening Ceremony. In Qatar 2022 it will take place on Sunday, November 20 at the Al Bayt Stadium in the city of Jor at 19:00 (local time).

It is still not officially known who the singers will be, however, FIFA expects to seal the participation of the band BTS and according to various media, Shakira could be again at the opening ceremony.

According to Total Reporter, the Colombian singer will open the World Cup alongside Dua Lipa and the members of BTS, who will make their debut on the World Cup opening stage.

The ‘Waka Waka’ singer would not be alone on stage, as she would be accompanied by other artists who are currently popular around the world: Dua Lipa and the popular Korean K-Pop group, BTS.

FIFA has not yet confirmed the news, but rumours are starting to spread and fans are already imagining how spectacular the show will be before the Qatar vs Ecuador match, the first of the tournament.

It was a soundtrack written by Italian composer Ennio Morricone. A second song was performed by the Buenos Aires City Symphonic Band and the Colon Theatre Choir.

Spain 1982: The World Cup
Performed by the tenor Placido Domingo, it had his particular stamp on the rhythm of the piece.

Mexico 1986: El mundo unido por balon (The world united by the ball)
This is considered to be one of the most popular songs for the fans of those years. It was written by Mexican composer Juan Carlos Abara.
