1
She Wears A Heart Monitor

Shakira works with trainer, Anna Kaiser, to help herself stay in shape. Kaiser shared some of the singer’s workout secrets in an interview with Glamour. Shakira wears a heart monitor when she works out. “She works out five or six days a week and wears a heart monitor to make sure that she’s working out optimally. This isn’t something that’s achieved in two or three weeks.”

She Does A Variety Of Workouts

Kaiser tells Glamour that Shakira does a variety of things to keep herself in shape. “Once a week, she does my AKTread (a dance-based treadmill workout). Three times a week, she’ll do dance-based interval training. One to two days a week, she’ll do approximately 45 minutes of just toning exercises. And on most weeks, she’ll do a cardio-only session. Almost all of my clients follow this routine.”

She Dances

Shakira is known for her dance moves. Kaiser tells Glamour that this is a big part of her fitness. “She loves it. As someone who doesn’t necessarily like working out, she enjoys that she has to use her mind when dancing. Dance makes the workout feel like it’s not a workout. It’s a very proportioned movement. Your body moves in a very connected way.”

She Eats Healthy

Kaiser broke down Shakira’s diet in an interview with E! News. “Let’s see, so breakfast could be eggs or avocado with olive oil, tomato, sea salt, then a smoothie, berries, plant protein, sometimes greens or green powder. Then for lunch, we have fish and fresh vegetables or a salad with lots of colors. Afternoon is, I know it gets really busy, but we’ll do a soup. There are some really good artichoke soups, or it could be a leek and eggplant soup, carrot ginger, and sometimes with a side of cucumbers with lemon and salt. For dinner, she’ll also do fish and veggies. It’s usually cold for lunch and warm for dinner. Or, like, what does she love? Pork chops. Pork chops are my least favorite food (laughs), but she likes them. Sometimes there will be dark chocolate, like a really pure dark chocolate with little to no sugar in it.”
