Shakira beams from ear to ear as she poses alongside lookalike mother Nidia amid romance rumours with Lewis Hamilton

Shakira looked in good spirits as she spent some quality time with her mother Nidia on Tuesday.

The Colombian singer, 46, took to Instagram and shared a heartwarming snap of herself sat on her mother’s lap.

The Whenever, Wherever hitmaker cut a casual figure in the pH๏τo, donning a black and white striped top along with a pair of dark jeans.

Letting her blonde locks fall loose down her shoulders, the star accentuated her natural beauty with a light palette of makeup.

Alongside the pH๏τo, she wrote: ‘Yes, at my age and still sit on my mom’s lap!’

Shakira is the only child of Nidia and her father William Mebarak Chadid, while she has eight older half-siblings from her father’s previous marriage.

The snap comes as Shakira continues to spend time with Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton in recent weeks.

Lewis is reportedly in a ‘love triangle’ with the songstress and Hollywood actor Tom Cruise.

The driver, 38, has been spotted with the singer numerous times since her split from ex-partner Gerard Piqué, 36, last year.

As well as enjoying boat trips together with pals in Miami the pair also dined in Barcelona after Lewis’ second place at the country’s Grand Prix last week.

But according to The Mirror action star Tom, 60, has had his ‘pride dented’ after Shakira seemingly rejected his advances to globe trot with ‘buddy’ Lewis.

A source told the publication the Top Gun star believed he and the singer ‘had incredible chemistry and taking it as a slam dunk they’d be dating in no time’.

Meanwhile another source told Radar Online ‘It was a huge dent to Tom’s ego, it stung all the more because he considers Lewis a buddy.’

According to Us Weekly, the Hips Don’t Lie singer finds the rumours ‘hilarious’ and despite having a ‘fun’ time with Tom when they met at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami, she has no plans to take things further.

The rumour mill went into overdrive  when the pair were pH๏τographed together at the sporting event, with sources claiming that  the A-list actor ‘is extremely interested in pursuing’ Shakira.

However, an insider has now revealed: ‘Shakira had a great time hanging out with Tom at F1 but she has no interest in dating him.’

They went on to explain that the singer is currently taking a dating break after her 11-year relationship with Gerard Pique came to an end in June.

The insider continued: ‘Tom was really nice and she enjoyed his company, but she isn’t focused on dating him or anybody else at the moment. She has a lot on her plate and is focused on her kids and career for now.

‘Shakira has seen the online rumors that Tom has been courting her — and how fans are chiming in with their opinions — but she thinks it’s hilarious because it’s just not true. She had a fun time when they chatted, but that’s as far as things have gone.’

The South American songstress, whose full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, parted ways with longtime love Gerard, 36, last summer amid allegations he had cheated on her with the woman he wound up dating following the split, Clara Chia Marti, 24.

After pictures of Shakira and Tom emerged, a source told Paige Six that the actor ‘is extremely interested in pursuing’ Shakira as ‘there is chemistry’ between the pair.

The Hollywood veteran sent flowers to the Whenever, Wherever artist after they crossed paths at the auto racing event in South Florida Sunday, the outlet reported.

Shakira ‘needs a soft pillow to fall on, and that could be Tom,’ the source told the outlet of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One star, describing him as ‘a nice-looking guy, and… talented.’

They noted of the stars, ‘And she isn’t taller than him,’ as the Top Gun: Maverick star is 5ft7 while the Grammy-winner is 5ft2.

Tom is father to three kids: Isabella, 30, and Connor, 28, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman; and Suri, 17, with ex-wife Katie Holmes.

Shakira is mother to kids Milan, 10, and Sasha, eight, with Gerard.

Earlier in the month, Shakira emotionally discussed relationships after her painful split from the Spanish former football player.

Speaking at the inaugural Women in Latin Music gala, she said: ‘It doesn’t matter so much if someone is faithful or not; what really matters is if you continue to be faithful to yourself.

‘When I felt most lost, it was music that put me on the path back to myself. There comes a time in every woman’s life when she no longer depends on someone to love or accept herself as she is.

‘The search for the other is replaced by the search for oneself when the desire to be perfect is replaced by the desire to be authentic,’ she said.

Shakira spoke to women everywhere, saying as a group, ‘Women are much stronger than we think. We are braver than we think we are. I think we are also more independent than we were taught to be.

‘What woman hasn’t gone through the experience of looking for attention, affection, or approval from others and forgotten about herself? It has happened to me.’
