News just in from Pantone HQ: seagrᴀss is enjoying a moment in the colour charts. The specific tone of green, coined by Bottega Veneta (who else?), is named after flowering marine plants (60 species, to be precise). But being Bottega, it’s got a piquant twist. Think zesty lime meets sea bed chic. Lost? Let Kendall Jenner enlighten.

KJ has been yachting around the Amalfi coast wearing the final look from Daniel Lee’s instantly cult Bottega spring/summer 2021 collection, shown in secret to the fashion world’s one per cent. The seagrᴀss towelling knit dress with a fringed V-neckline encapsulates Lee’s magic touch at modernising the textures embedded in the house heritage (see also his blown-up intrecciato leather) and, of course, his exquisite way with colour (last year, he sparked the apple-green trend beloved by Hailey Bieber).

While seagrᴀss might seem trickier to pull off than Bottega’s bold fruit bowl shade, Jenner is actually a secret master at wearing the subtly unique tone. She’s also been traversing the shorelines of Sardinia and Capri in Donni’s soft lime waffle cotton bralette and short set which, like her terry towel dress, she paired with her simple Missoma gold chains. Seagrᴀss, it seems, needs little in the way of company.

At the start of August, Kendall weekended in the Hamptons wearing a Sandra Simona dress in another offbeat ocean-floor shade, and her trusty Alo Yoga coords vary on the same aqua green theme. It takes gusto to pull off a tennis skirt in a shade zestier than the lawn itself, but for this seagrᴀss influencer it’s pas de problème.
