Shakira Breaks 14 Guinness World Records

Shakira Breaks 14 Guinness World Records

Shakira has won plenty of awards and accolades throughout her illustrious career, spanning more than three decades. But, perhaps none as unique as her latest achievement.

The Latin pop-rock superstar has been dominating the charts as of late and that has led her to claim more Guinness World Records (GWR) record-breaker тιтles to her list of accomplishments. The multi-Grammy-winning artist has officially broken 14 Guinness World Records, according to a press release.

Shakira, who is a seventeen-time Guinness World Records тιтleholder, shattered four records. They include: the most streamed Latin track on Spotify in 24 hours (14,393,324 streams), the most viewed Latin track on YouTube in 24 hours (63,000,000 hits), the fastest Latin track to reach 100 million views on YouTube (two days and approximately 22 hours), and the most streamed Latin track on Spotify in one week (80,646,962).

Shakira was able to succeed other artists, who might have taken up the тιтles in those categories, thanks to her viral hit “Shakira: Brzp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” with Argentinian producer and DJ Bizarrap.

Shakira and Bizarrap were presented with certificates for their latest achievements while backstage at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 10. They were on hand at the late-night talk show program to perform their global No. 1 hit collaboration.

During the performance, Shakira wore leather chaps paired with a skin-tight garment as she danced around on a set that included Bizarrap on the turntables. At one point, Shakira made her way toward the studio audience and interacted with the energetic crowd, who sang along with her to the song.

During the sit-down portion of the visit, Shakira told Jimmy Fallon how “Shakira: Brzp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” came together.

“My son, Milan, who just turned 10, he’s also a musician. He has a very good ear and good taste in music,” she said. “He’s a big Biza fan. He told me, ‘Mom, you’ve got to collaborate with Bizarrap. You have to get on a song with Bizarrap because you guys are gonna be number one.”

“He sent a voice note to my manager, Jaime,” she continued. “He said, ‘Jaime, you’ve got to put my mom together with Bizarrap on a song because they are gonna be number one.’ And he was right!”
