Taylor Swift hands out $83 million in bonuses to Eras tour staff

She’s about to wrap the US leg of her blockbuster Eras tour, and Taylor Swift has thanked her entire body of staff with life-changing gifts.

Taylor Swift has handed out millions of dollars in bonuses to her entire Eras tour staff.
The US pop star, 33, is about to wrap the North American leg of her blockbuster tour, which she kicked off in Arizona in March, with six shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, before taking her show around the world.

As a gesture of thanks to the hundreds of staff members who have travelled alongside her, from dancers to caterers and sound technicians, Swift has reportedly gifted bonuses totalling $83 million ($US55 million), according to People.

TMZ further reported Swift gave truckers on her tour $151,000 ($US100,000) each as part of the generous gift.

Swift sparked pandemonium in Australia when tickets went on sale in late June for her 2024 shows, with the Grammy winner initially announcing just five shows in Melbourne and Sydney in February next year, which sold out within hours.

Due to unprecedented demand, the singer added an extra two dates, and will perform three sold-out shows at Melbourne’s MCG from February 16-18 and four at Sydney’s Accor Stadium from February 23-26.

For her Australian leg, Swift is likely to earn an estimated $35 million for the two-week stint – which comes in at around $5 million per concert.

It is estimated the tour, which also stops in the UK, Europe, Japan and Singapore, will rake in an eye-watering $US1 billion globally, making it the highest-grossing tour of all time.
