Taylor Swift unveils cover art for new vinyl edition of 1989 (Taylor’s Version) available now for pre-order

Taylor Swift announced 1989 Taylor’s version Sunrise Boulevard Yellow Edition Vinyl is currently for sale on her website for the next 48 hours – as well as the new cover art for it.

The star, 33, shared the image on Thursday, adding: ‘Allow me to introduce… The 1989 (my version) Sunrise Boulevard Vinyl Edition. Available on my site for the next 48 hours.’

Taylor’s cover art featured her lying on the beach with her legs in the air and her arm covering her face.

The award winning musician donned a striped sweater with white shorts and red lipstick for the cover art.

Taylor tagged the pH๏τographer, Beth Garrabrant, in the post.

Taylor announced 1989 Taylor’s Version during the last day of her LA tour dates – which finished up last week.

She shared the news on the August 9 tour date in LA at SoFi Stadium during the US leg of her tour.

She also unveiled the new 1989 artwork in the announcement.

Taylor revealed the album will drop on October 27, 2023.

She donned a blue dress for the news, signifying the new era.

‘Here we are on our last night of the US leg of the Eras tour in the eight month of the year on the ninth day. You might have noticed there are some new outfits in the show,’ she said, via People.

‘There’s something that I’ve been planning for a really, really, really ridiculously, embarrᴀssingly long time, and instead of telling you about it, I’ll think I’ll just sort of show you.’

She showed the cover art and drop date on the screen behind her.

The special edition vinyl can be ordered on her website until August 19; if ordered, it will ship out on October 27.

She also has the original 1989 Taylor’s Version vinyl for sale as well – it is the same cover art as the CD version and the cᴀssette version.

Taylor’s version of 1989 will include all of the re-recorded 1989 tracks, plus five additional songs.

The five songs are previously unreleased songs from The Vault – she did not reveal what the names of the new songs are.

The original 1989 album dropped in 2014.

Taylor has already re-recorded Fearless, Red, and Speak Now – with just 1989, Reputation and Taylor Swift left to re-record.

The decision to re-record her albums came after her record label Big Machine Records was sold to Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings – which included the master recordings of her six albums she made under the label.

He never asked Taylor or gave her the opportunity to purchase her masters, which she publicly revealed.

Scooter sold the masters for $300 million to Shamrock Holdings in 2019.

She released Taylor’s Version for Fearless in April 2021, for Red in November 2021 and Speak Now in July 2023.
