Wild thing! Shakira wears suspenders and a zebra print dress for seductive new shoot as she opens up about being a new mother

Shakira graced the cover of Ocean Drive magazine in a clingy zebra-print dress and opened up about power and motherhood in an interview.

The 37-year-old Colombian beauty landed the front of the May/June issue of the magazine in an Amanda Wakeley zebra print dress for its special Women Of Influence issue.

The article pointed out that Shakira wrote her first song at age eight and released her debut album at age 13.

Since then she’s sold more than 60 million albums worldwide and is the most liked musician on Facebook with 90 million followers.

The Hips Don’t Lie singer told the magazine she’s been living in Barcelona, Spain and starts her days playing outside with her one-year-old son Milan from her relationship with Spanish soccer player Gerard Pique.

Shakira said when she’s at her Miami home she enjoys spending time with her parents, extended family and childhood friends.

‘I love getting out on the water, either jet skiing or on a boat when possible,’ she told Ocean Drive, which covers fashion, celebrities, entertainment and society in Miami Beach, Florida.

The Voice judge was asked about power and how she uses her stature.

‘To me, being powerful means you are in control of yourself above all and know how to use your strengths to achieve things that are important to you – in my case, a lot of the time that ends up being philanthropic endeavors,’ she said.

Shakira founded the Barefoot Foundation and the Latin America In Solidarity Action charities to help poor children in Latin America and worldwide.

She also reported no power issues at home.

‘In my house, I would say the balance of power is fairly equal. Relationships have to have a give and take if they’re going to work in the long term,’ she told the magazine of her relationship with 27-year-old Gerard.

She also gave little Milan credit for changing her outlook on life.

‘Becoming a mother has forced me to slow down and reorganize my life to find a way to still be devoted to all the things I’m pᴀssionate about-music, philanthropy, and motherhood,’ she said.

She’s also having the time of her life.

‘Since my last album, I’ve entered one of the happiest phases of my life. It was definitely a time of change, of rebirth, of self-discovery, and of course becoming a mother, which turned my world on its heads in the best of ways,’ Shakira said.

Meanwhile, Shakira will be giving UK fans the lowdown on her new music video with Beyonce and making her album on 4Music on Friday.
