Shakira has had to postpone the start of her latest tour again after straining her vocal cords in rehearsal.

‘For the last few days I’ve been very focused on recovery for my strained vocal chords. I really hoped to achieve this in time to be able to sing in Paris; however, and much to my chagrin, this hasn’t been possible and my doctors have advised me to continue on vocal rest for the time being .’

At the moment I’m concentrating on full recovery to be able to share with you all this show that I’ve so enjoyed preparing and of which I am very proud. I’m anxious to get back on stage and be at 100% for all of you.’

Finally she also expressed immense graтιтude for her fans’ unerring support.

Again, I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for all the support you’ve shown me these days and which has helped keep me afloat in what has been a difficult time. God willing we will see each other soon for the kickoff of my tour.’

Promoters Live Nation are working to reschedule the cancelled concerts.

In an earlier statement to her fans posted on Instagram which announced the first delay, Shakira wrote: ‘To my German fans, during these last few days of rehearsals I have unfortunately strained my vocal cords and doctors have ordered me to go on vocal rest to avoid any greater damage that could keep me from performing.

‘I’m devastated to have to miss our first show on November 8th in Koln. I love my German fans so much and was looking forward to sharing my first show with you.’

The blonde beauty continued: ‘As much as it pains me, I know I need to heed the advice of my doctors and recover so I can give you all everything I’ve got once I’m on the road and not risk any further injury.’

She added that she will make up the date.

‘The Live Nation team is working hard to find a new date for me to come back and share this exciting show with you which I feel is going to be my best one yet.
