North West’s bond with dad Kanye revealed in first interview – and it’s a credit to Kim

North West has spoken about her bond with her father and controversial rapper Kanye West.

In her first cover interview with i-D magazine, the 10-year-old confirmed that her favourite song at the moment comes from her dad’s debut album The College Dropout. North’s favourite, Through The Wire, details Kanye’s experience when he was in a near-fatal car crash and had to have his jaw wired shut.

The album won Kanye his first Grammy award for Best Rap Album as well as his daughter’s approval. In the interview, North also shares that she loves singing, and when asked if she gets her pᴀssion from her family, she says: “Sometimes, mostly from me though. And then a little bit of my dad.”

Kim has been very careful to make sure her frustrations with Kanye dad don’t affect their children. She broke down in tears on The Kardashians explaining that everything she does is for them. And it’s clear that her hard work has paid off as North still idolises her father.

For Halloween, one of North’s outfits included Kanye’s iconic bear mascot from his 2007 album, Graduation. The debut the costume, she danced on TikTok to her dad’s hits, including, I Wonder, Can’t Tell Me Nothing and a sped-up version of Estelle’s 2008 hit, American Boy which Kanye infamously featured in.

Kim and North also teamed up on a Halloween costume and became the leading ladies from Clueless. The Skims founder was inundated with praise when she revealed her H๏τly-anticipated costume, as she joined forces with her daughter to recreate an iconic scene from the 1995 romantic comedy.

Kim was dressed as spoiled Beverly Hills rich kid Cher, and wore her infamous yellow plaid skirt and blazer ensemble, while North was her best friend Dionne, and rocked a black and white checked outfit.
