Zara McDermott fires back at critics who claim she deceived fans by not being honest about her boob job and says she supports Love Island’s new social media ban

Zara McDermott has fired back at critics who claimed she lied about having a boob job, saying she has ‘always been open about everything I’ve had done’.

The reality star, 26, also spoke out about Love Island’s new rules, saying she supports islanders’ from being banned from posting on social media during the show.

Answering fan questions on an Instagram Q&A, Zara said she thinks public figures are ‘damned if you do, damned if you don’t’ no matter what they choose to share.

‘My procedure comes with risk to someone and that’s what worried me about sharing too much sometimes.

‘However if you don’t tell people about what you’ve had done then people ᴀssume you’re hiding things. Tbh in my personal opintion the only time someone should HAVE to share work they’ve had done is if they’re selling a fitness plan or supplements but they’ve had liposuction or a BBL for example.

She said: ‘Otherwise, I think everyone is enтιтled to share / not share what they want to share. I remember when I had my boobs done, I was getting messages every single day being like “WHY ARE YOU LYING ABOUT YOUR BOOB JOB”… I wasn’t lying I just hadn’t talked about it yet.

‘As I wanted to be sure I’d made the right decision for myself before sharing, and by doing so unintentionally encouraging others to do the same!

‘At first I was freaked out, I ripped my scar open and was going to potentially have to have another surgery as it was infected.
