Kim Kardashian: Hollywood Mobile Game to Shut Down After Nearly Decade

Kim Kardashian’s mobile game venture, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, is shutting down after 10 years of helping fans make it big.

In June 2014, The Kardashians star, 43, partnered with mobile gaming developer Glu to release Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, which gave fans a chance to achieve A-list stardom by making their mark with events, acting, modeling, club appearances and dating. Though the mobile game was free, players could purchase “K stars” to further their climb up the social ladder.

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, Kardashian confirmed the closure of the game and expressed her graтιтude for the Glu team and the dedicated players who supported the game for the past decade.

“I’m so grateful from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has loved and played Kim Kardashian: Hollywood in the past 10 years,” she wrote. “This journey has meant so much to me but I’ve realized that it’s time to focus that energy into other pᴀssions. I want to thank the Glu team and the many people behind the scenes who have worked diligently on making it a success.”

“I will be forever inspired by this community that we built together,” the Skims founder added.

The game has since been removed from Apple and Android app stores. Upon login, users who have the app downloaded to their devices are issued a notice that states players can continue to utilize the game’s features until April 8. The app also features a timer that counts down to the app’s inevitable shutdown.

Kardashian’s mobile endeavor was a mᴀssive success and became on track to reach $200 million in annual revenue just a month after its launch in 2014. The game also featured the reality star’s family members including Khloé Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and Kris Jenner.

In addition to famous members of the Kardashian clan, other celebrities like André Leon Talley and NeNe Leakes also made digital cameos. At the time, Talley promoted his avatar well-dressed in Valentino creations and custom suits in a post shared on Instagram.

“Love, Love, Love, the Kim game,” he wrote at the time. “And so thrilled to be part of the scene in my gorge Valentino caftan I wore to her wedding in Paris, at the Versailles leg of the venture.”

Kim Kardashian: Hollywood will be available to current users until April 8.
