Shakira Brought Her 2 Adorable Kids to the 2023 VMAs, and the Pictures Are Super Sweet

Shakira is the artist of the hour at the 2023 MTV VMAs, where she’s being awarded the prestigious Vanguard Award, and she’s making sure her two kids are part of the moment.

The superstar was spotted on the VMAs red carpet with her two children, Milan Pique and Sasha Pique, both of whom she shares with her ex Gerard Pique.

The boys were spotted with their mom, who is taking home the biggest award of the night, performing a medley of her hits, and is also nominated in four categories: Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration for “TQG” with Karol G, and Best Latin Video for both “TQG” and “Acróstico.”

Shakira has opened up about parenting her boys before, calling it “one of the most difficult things I’ve done in my life.” “I’ve been on the most challenging stages performing in front of really demanding audiences and I’ve been meeting with world leaders who sometimes make you a little bit apprehensive, but nothing has made me so self-conscious as being a mom,” she told People back in 2015. “Every day, I wonder if I’m doing the right thing. I just want to improve in the job, the hardest job on Earth.”

Since Shakira and Gerard broke up in November 2022, she’s kept honest about navigating this new chapter as best she can, and it hasn’t always been easy.

“I’ve had a very rough year after my separation, and writing this song has been so important to me,” she said on The Tonight Show back in March of her song “BZRP Music Session #53.” “It’s been a healthy way to channel my emotions.”
