Taylor Swift Is Not Releasing A Novel After All

The rumours caught like wildfire when they started spreading this morning. Not content with being a once-in-a-generation musical talent, they suggested that Taylor Swift was set to become a novelist once the dust had settled on her record-breaking Eras tour.

According to reports, which started circulating on August 30, Swift was rumoured to be planning to release her debut novel, which she first wrote at the age of 14. Titled A Girl Called Girl, the story follows a mother who had hoped for a son instead of a daughter, and while it was penned during her teenage years, it is understood to have remained under wraps

It’s believed that Swift secured the trademark rights to the novel, any audio versions of it and any accompanying merchandise in 2015, and that the original manuscript has been looked after by her parents in the decade since she first wrote it. The rumours, however, are in fact false and Swift’s next move remains as unwritten as any potential novel.

Swift’s exact plans for after the Eras tour remain unclear, although it is understood that she will take a well-deserved hiatus once the headline-making, record-breaking and career-defining Eras tour comes to a close in December. Her final performances will take place in Toronto and Vancouver as her legion of fans patiently await news of not only her next move but the highly-anticipated re-recorded version of her 2017 album Reputation, too.
