Why did Shakira just walk off the stage at this Miami Beach nightclub? Watch the video

Shakira looked to be having the time of her life Saturday night. Until she wasn’t.

As seen in a video widely circulating on social media, the pop star was partying it up at LIV nightclub, inside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach H๏τel.

At one point, Shakira jumps on stage when her upcoming track “Soltera” (“bachelorette” in English) begins to play.

As the 47-year-old singer shakes her famous hips in a shimmery mini-dress, she seems slightly uncomfortable, fiddling with her mid-thigh hem.

The mother of two suddenly points to someone in the crowd with her index fingers and gestures to her eye, indicates she is watching them, a la Robert de Niro in “Meet the Parents.”

Shak, smiling again, resumes dancing and smiling. But her expression doesn’t last long. She tugs at her hem again, motions to her neck, as if to say, “Cut,” and climbs down from the stage.

A club representative told the Miami Herald on Monday that the Colombian chart-topper wasn’t set to shimmy for the crowd; it was a “spontaneous” move. The publicist adds that the superstar had asked people to put down their phones for the performance and that it was actually her own team who was doing the shooting.

Despite posts saying that audience members were taking video up her dress, the rep says what we saw in the clip is Shak telling her folks to lower their cameras “so fans can enjoy the moment with her.”

The famed entertainer didn’t leave the venue and go home in a huff, apparently. We hear she resumed the fun off stage, staying until around 3 a.m., and even played DJ alongside model Winnie Harlow.
