Billie Eilish hits the gym in head-to-toe black after her shocking split from boyfriend Jesse Rutherford
Billie Eilish burned some calories in head-to-toe black on Tuesday when she hit the gym in Los Angeles – one week after her shocking split from boyfriend Jesse Rutherford.
The 21-year-old pop star donned a black jacket, leggings, and high-top Converse kicks for her workout.
Billie’s gym session comes on the heels of her May-December romance with Rutherford, 31, fizzling after seven months.
In a statement released by Billie’s team last Wednesday, the singer announced that she and the musician have ‘amicably’ parted ways.
A spokesman for the singer said: ‘We can confirm Billie and Jesse did split amicably and remain good friends.’
The former flames were last seen together at Coachella in April, and Billie was first linked with Jesse, a vocalist for the Neighbourhood, when the two were spotted by a fan at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights in October 2022.
The pair’s age gap had sparked controversy due to Billie being the tender age of 20 and Jesse, 31, when they debuted their romance.
The couple – who had reportedly known each other for about six years before friendship turned to romance – sparked backlash from fans with their ‘disturbing’ baby and old man Halloween costumes last year.
Seemingly taking aim at critics, the singer dressed up as a baby, complete with a diaper and bonnet, while Rutherford sported a bald cap and wrinkled prosthetics – which didn’t go down well with fans.
When they were dating, Billie didn’t shy away from the backlash and addressed the scrutiny head-on with defiance: ‘Say what you need to say, but, like, I am in control right now. I did this.’
The Grammy-winning superstar also revealed her love language was physical touch as she detailed the attributes she needed in a relationship.
‘I just need to be touching skin, all the time. Touching, and cuddling, and hugging, anything skin related is really a big thing for me.
‘And other than that, just freedom. You know, I don’t want to be controlled. I want to be trusted and I want to be able to have space and I want love and attention and equal admiration is really important.’
Billie was previously in a relationship with actor Matthew Tylor Vorce. The pair split in May last year with Matthew, 31, denying he had cheated on the singer.
‘Nobody cheated on anyone,’ he claimed on his Instagram Story, confirming the break-up.
The actor added: ‘Relationships end. Simple as that. Creating rumors and LYING on the internet is dangerous.’
