Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s relationship was rocky all along; is that why they signed a prenup?

Since breaking free from Disney in 2011, Miley Cyrus has built an incredibly successful career within the music industry. She has gone on to release a string of incredibly successful albums, with some of her most notable singles including Flowers, Wrecking Ball, We Can’t Stop, The Climb, and Party In The U.S.A.

Now, she has firmly established herself within the music industry, with her latest single Flowers being one of her most successful to date. However, despite finding success in her musical endeavors, Miley has been through more of a rocky ride when it comes to her romantic relationships.

Some of the most notable names from Miley’s love life include Justin Gaston, Dylan Sprouse, Nick Jonas, Kaitlynn Carter, Cody Simpson, and of course, Liam Hemsworth.

Over the years, fans have certainly had a lot to say about Miley’s relationship with Liam, which was certainly somewhat of a rollercoaster ride at times. However, many fans have been left wondering in regard to certain aspects of her marriage. Many fans are wondering if the couple had a prenup arrangement during their brief marriage.

Miley And Liam First Met In 2009

Romance first flickered between Miley and Liam in 2009 when the pair first met each other on the set of The Last Song, a movie adaptation of the popular novel.

During their time on set, it appeared that the two would get to know each other as more than ‘just friends,’ with fans noticing several PDA-packed moments while the pair were together.

However, this moment would mark the beginning of a whirlwind romance that was about to be sparked between the two.

Over the course of the next eight years, the pair would split up and get back together repeatedly, leaving fans second-guessing what was really going on between the pair.

Later in 2013, the two announced that they were officially engaged, sparking hope among fans that now their relationship could finally be getting serious. However, to no prevail, the pair later called off their engagement.

Miley And Liam Got Married In 2018

During their tremulous relationship, Miley and Liam did actually briefly tie the knot with one another. The pair were married between 2018-2019 before Liam Hemsworth filed for divorce.

This marked the end of their long yet turbulent romance. For her part, Miley has since described her marriage to Liam Hemsworth as a ‘disaster.’

But what exactly was the reasoning for their split? According to Yahoo, the singer blamed their split on “too much conflict,” explaining: “When I come home, I want to be anchored by someone. I don’t get off on drama or fighting.”

So, although things may have seemed to be rosier on the surface, it seems as though tensions may have been brewing among the pair for some time.

However, neither of them dove into too much detail, likely wanting to keep the subject private.

Despite speculation among fans, there are no official reports of such a matter even occurring in their relationship. However, aside from rumors and speculation surrounding their breakup, many fans also want to know if the pair ever decided to get a prenup before making the leap into marriage.

Miley Cyrus Had An “Ironclad” Prenup With Liam

According to ELLE, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth did in fact have a prenuptial agreement in place.

Such an agreement allowed for each party to ‘retain their personal earnings’ if they ever split, which ended up being the case.

In Miley and Liam’s case, Miley was allowed to keep their pets and her own personal earnings, while Liam kept his.

They also reportedly agreed that neither party would get any financial support after the marriage, as they don’t share any children.

Despite their separation, it would appear that things are amicable between the pair, at least to the public eye.
