Kanye West legally becomes ‘Ye’ after name change request is approved by LA judge… as he unveils new haircut

Kanye West is now legally ‘Ye’ after a judge approved his name change request on Monday. The 44-year-old, who filed a peтιтion last month to officially go by his famous nickname, had his request approved by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michelle Williams Court, according to Deadline.

Ye, who has no middle or last name, cited personal reasons behind his decision to change his name in his peтιтion.  The rapper, who has used the moniker as a nickname for years, named his eighth studio album Ye and even goes by the abbreviated тιтle on Twitter.

The pH๏τo was captioned with the Yen symbol, however it is unclear if was in any way referencing his new name.

In the pH๏τo, Kanye faced with his back towards the camera while brandishing a silver chain necklace bearing the name of his son Saint.

The name change may not come as a surprise to die hard Kanye fans, who will probably remember the rapper wanting to be referred to as Ye back in 2018.

In a tweet, the rapper declared at the time: ‘The being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE.’
