Kanye West sued by former Donda teacher who says kids are ‘facing long-term issues’

Students at Kanye West’s Donda Academy are being failed, according to one former teacher who is suing the rapper over the private school.

The musician runs a Christian prep school which has been accused of violating multiple health and safety rules, including locking children inside and only feeding them sushi.

Cecilia Hailey and her daughter Chekarey Byers claim to have witnessed the violations and say they were discriminated against based on their race, according to court documents.

Former teacher Cecilia has now spoken out about the school as she warned parents that their children are “severely behind” and “facing long-term issues”.

“They need to be aware that their children are behind and that they need to consider that it’s going to be very hard for them to transfer their kids out of that school,” she warned.

Cecilia also said the kids are being failed by the academy.

“They absolutely are not getting what they need. The kids are being suppressed because of all the constant changes that go on at the school.”

The former staff member explained how there are no official documents for the children because the Donda Academy isn’t accredited.

She said children are then tested when they leave and go to another school.

“If they come in at third grade level, or fourth grade level, and they’re in the sixth grade, they’re going to go in the third grade,” Cecilia told TMZ. “But it won’t be the child’s fault that they’re behind, it is Donda’s fault that they’re behind.”

Among the allegations made against the Donda Academy are that all colour was banned from inside classrooms and that cleaning services are forbidden.

The two teachers who used to work at the Donda Academy allege they were sacked after they complained about potential dangers to students, according to the LA County wrongful termination suit.

Cecilia and Chekarey said that during the time they worked at the school, it was locked from outside with the pupils having to remain indoors all day.

The lawsuit also claims that medications were stored haphazardly and there was no school nurse on site.

According to the suit, there are no tables or chairs for the students to sit on, meaning they have to sit on the floor to eat their lunch.

Students were also allegedly banned from the second floor because West “was reportedly afraid of stairs”.
