Kendall Takes Peekaboo Dressing Up A Notch

Stars and celebrities across film, fashion and music descended onto the red carpet on Saturday for the LACMA Art + Film Gala 2022, and trust a Kardashian sister to come out with one of the most unusual looks of the night. Kendall Jenner’s unexpected take on the nearly naked dress certainly turned some heads.

Jenner, who turned 27 on Thursday, allowed her supermodel figure to stay centre stage in a dress which featured a sheer, long-sleeved top half and strategically placed draped fabric over the bust.

The model teamed a subtle smokey eye with a ɴuᴅᴇ lip, and let her long dark hair fall over her shoulders in her signature gentle wave.

A pair of black strappy high heeled sandals added height to her 5’9 frame.

So far, so normal.

But it was the additional detail of a ‘pause ʙuттon’ (what looked like two vertical rectangles, either side of her belly ʙuттon) on her sheer dress that had some fans confused.

“I don’t get the pause ʙuттon,” one user on Instagram wrote.

“Is there a purpose for this two lines by her belly ʙuттon? [sic]” added another.

“It’s super tacky and we’re really done of these naked dresses! [sic]” wrote one user, before adding: “ but this dress is kinda cool on her.”

However, on the other side of the coin, some fans declared the look “epic”, and said that Jenner looked “stunning” in the nearly naked dress.

Jenner’s dress, which featured a draped metallic silver skirt section, was designed by French-born, Turkish designer Burç Akyol.

The up-and-coming designer described Jenner wearing his dress as a “pinch me” moment.

The second youngest Kardashian sister has been known to champion new and exciting fashion designers, so maybe this is a curve we need to get behind. A play ʙuттon gown next, perhaps?
