Kim Kardashian Gets Backlash for Faux Snow-Covered Home Transformation: ‘So Wasteful’

The reality star shared another close-up look at her “winter wonderland” yard in an Instagram Reel on Monday.

Not everyone thinks Kim Kardashian’s holiday decor is as magical as she does.

In an Instagram Reel on Monday, The Kardashians star, 43, gave another tour of her snow-covered yard in honor of the holiday season coming to an end. The SKIMS founder transformed her home into a real-life snow globe for her family’s iconic Christmas Eve party that she hosted this year.

Kardashian captioned the clip, “winter wonderland ❄️☃️,” as she walked through a maze of snowy evergreen trees. A cover of “Winter Wonderland” by Babyface played in the background while she revealed more scenes of her icy installation.

While the SKIMS founder is certainly a fan of her outdoor setup, many followers took to the comments section to point out its flaws.

“The amount of $ spent on this could’ve helped so many… ,” one wrote, while another added, “Kim, people are dying,” in reference to her sister Kourtney Kardashian’s viral quote from Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Multiple users added that it’s “so wasteful” and questioned how the reality star plans on cleaning it up.

“This is called too much money and you don’t know what to do with it all. I can give you some ideas,” another comment read. Various users added that she should have used the money for a greater cause, while others brought up the impact her faux snow will have on the environment.

Despite the backlash Kim has been receiving for her holiday decor this season, she has continued to show off her “simplistic” display that was brought to life by her longtime florist, Jeff Leatham, and her go-to event planner, Mindy Weiss.

“Always there to see my simplistic vision out!” she wrote over a pH๏τo of her festive decorations in December, tagging Leatham and Weiss in the caption. “I love you both! Thank you for the holiday magic.”

In that same series of pH๏τos posted to her Instagram Stories, the mom of four revealed that the forest of evergreens she had set up inside her home were all real trees that smelled “so amazing.”
