Kim Kardashian Shades Kylie Jenner In ‘Bad Makeup’ TikTok
The Kardashians star Kim Kardashian seemingly threw shade at her younger sister Kylie Jenner’s makeup brand in a funny video on TikTok.
The most prominent sister of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian, seems to be shading her younger half-sister Kylie Jenner’s makeup brand in a new TikTok about “bad makeup.” Both Kim and Kylie have their own individual makeup brands named after themselves, and have each been very successful. The two have collaborated on makeup products in the past, and often promote each other. Although Kim and Kylie are not very close in age, they have young children around the same age, who they often share posts about online and film with on their show.
The Kardashians’ Kim Kardashian posted a funny video on her TikTok account shared with her daughter North West, in which she did her makeup poorly to a funny sound. Kim appeared to be joking around, while putting the products on in a way where most people would not want to leave the house if it were on their faces.
Kim was following a trend in which she did her makeup like a British “chav,” a young girl who wears a face full of questionable makeup. In the video, Kim picks up a Kylie Cosmetics blush and uses that to put a bit too much on her face. When doing so, Kim made sure to show the camera the Kylie Cosmetics label on the outside of the palette.
Kim Kardashian’s Presence On TikTok
Kim has recently made a large impact on TikTok with her daughter North. While North doesn’t have an account of her own, she shares one with her mom Kim, who is the one actually running the account. The mother-daughter pair follows trends, posts dances, and even makes fun of themselves on the app. Kim has received a positive reception to the makeup video, which shows that fans of the Kardashian-Jenner family like to see this other side of Kim, who is normally very ʙuттoned up. Other popular videos included a TikTok in which Kim and North danced to a Taylor Swift song, seemingly squashing the long-term beef that Taylor had with Kim.
However, despite positive reception, Kim’s presence on TikTok may not be the best for her image. Kim and North’s recent TikTok, set to Kanye West’s “Bound 2,” shows North dressed up as her father, and Kim singing along in the background. The video made many viewers uncomfortable, as Kim appears to be acting “Sєxy” with her child in the video. While this is only one video on the account, it does show how much scrutiny Kim is under, and even that one 15-second video can cause people to speculate.
Taking that narrative into account, it is likely that Kim’s use of Kylie Cosmetics in the makeup video was harmless. It could be some sisterly joking, or just the first blush Kim picked up when she went to record. More than anything, this just shows how popular Kim has become on TikTok. Maybe it will even be a storyline on the next season of The Kardashians on Hulu.
