American popstar-entrepreneur Selena Gomez has always been under the spotlight for one reason or another.
The Wizards of Waverly Place star has been quite public with her opinions and words as well. This has also been true for her very public relationship with Justin Bieber.
After the infamous split, which has been a source of much intrigue among the fanbase of both celebrities, rumors started going around that Justin Bieber’s next romantic interest, Hailey Bieber, had “stolen” Bieber from Gomez.

So when the fanbase and the media tried to stir things up between her and Hailey Bieber, with many fans claiming that Hailey had started dating Justin before he broke up with Selena, Selena stepped up to defend the American model.
Hailey Bieber opened up about this backlash in her Call Her Daddy interview in 2022. Gomez soon came forward to defend the American model on TikTok, saying:
“I think some of the things that I don’t even need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting, and it’s not fair, and no one, ever, should be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen.”

Gomez also further added that none of the negativity aimed at Hailey Bieber was from her. She went as far as to indirectly criticize her fans for spreading hatred that she did not want to.

Selena Gomez did not hold back while responding to the bullying that Hailey Bieber said she faced from “Gomez fans,” most of whom directly and indirectly accused Hailey of stealing Justin Bieber from Gomez. There were also accusations that Hailey was involved with Justin Bieber before he and Gomez split up.

Selena Gomez said in the video she uploaded on TikTok:
“All I have to say is, it’s incredibly ironic that I would release something that is all about kind words, ’cause that’s exactly what I want. That’s it….If you support Rare, I cannot thank you enough, but know that you are also representing what it means. And that is—words matter. Truly matter…So, it ain’t comin’ from me.”
Gomez continued:
“And I just want all of you to know, that I hope that you understand that this is much bigger than anything else. And I’m really grateful to all of yourfor hearing me out. So, have a wonderful rest of your day.”

Hailey Bieber also expressed similar emotions about Gomez during her interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast. She spoke fondly about her relationship with Selena Gomez and explained that she, Gomez, and Justin Beiber sat down and clarified things.
Bieber said in the interview:
“I respect her, there’s no drama personally,” she said. “That’s why I’m like, it’s all respect. It’s all love. That’s also why I feel like if everybody on our side knows what happened and we’re good and we could walk away from it with clarity and respect, then, like, that’s fine.”

She added:
“You’re never going to be able to correct every narrative and there’s gonna be new ones that come. It’s never gonna end and that’s why I get to the point — that’s why I didn’t speak about a lot of this stuff.”
Despite all this, the Justin Bieber-Selena Gomez relationship and subsequent breakup remains one of the most talked-about splits in the industry even today.
