Not quite the cowgirl! Kendall Jenner STANDS on top of a horse for a strange new Vogue magazine pH๏τoshoot

Contrary to what her latest Vogue pH๏τoshoot implies, Kendall Jenner does actually know how to ride a horse.

In fact, the  supermodel spent a decade chasing equestrian pursuits before focusing on the catwalk, which makes her new high-fashion pose all the more confusing.

Going in front of the camera for the new issue of Vogue, Kendall is pictureD standing on top of a horse, balancing with one foot flat and the other pointed on its back.

The strange shoot features just one image of Kendall. The brunette stunner is dressed in a red Versace number, accessory-free and with her hair in a bunch. She is also, for the horse’s sake, barefoot, as she poses steadily on its back in front of a plain white background.

She shared the image on Instagram today, writing simply: ‘Spirit animal.’ Within two hours, it had garnered well over a million lines.

According to an interview she gave to Harper’s Bazaar last year, Kendall actually envisioned a career with horses before designers came calling.

‘I’ve always loved animals. I rode horses for 10 and a half years, so I thought I was going to be a professional horseback rider and then a vet. I used to play these vet video games,’ she said.

The Vogue image is part of a feature in this month’s issue called Show of Strength, which spotlights 15 iconic female designers. This is the first time in Vogue’s 125-year existence that it has published a portfolio made up exclusively of women.

Stella McCartney, Miuccia Prada, Tory Burch, Carolina Herrera, Phoebe Philo, Diane Von Furstenberg, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, Vera Wang, Victoria Beckham, Simone Rocha, Donatella Versace, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are all honored.

‘What we as women have to really focus on now is our intention to fight for our rights, but to do it with dignity — not whining, not crying. Since we are stronger than men, we shouldn’t be afraid of our own strength,’ Diane told the magazine.

Many of the designers modeled their own clothes for the feature, while Cate Blanchett also appears.
