Shakira’s mother reveals the details of the singer’s father’s condition

Nidia Ripoll spoke to a reporter about his current health

Shakira is living trough one of the toughest periods of her life at the moment. As well as ending her 12-year relationship with Gerard Pique, the singer is having to deal with her father suffering a health scare and ending up in hospital.

William Mebarak is Shakira’s father, and he has been in hospital of later for reasons that have not been made public.

Now, though, the Colombian singer’s mother Nidia Ripoll, has spoken to the press about William’s condition.

How is Shakira’s father?
“He’s stable,” Nidia Ripoll, Shakira’s mother, said in response to a journalist’s question in Barcelona.

“I don’t know when [he will be allowed to go home], when the doctors ay so.”

Ripoll didn’t give many more details away about the current state of Mebarak’s health, nor did Shakira herself.

Shakira had published a video showing herself helping her father in his rehabilitation about a month ago, only for him to end up in hospital again weeks later.
