5 of the best outfits Kim Kardashian wore this year and 4 that missed the mark

Kim Kardashian is consistent in her efforts to have standout style.

She attended a handful of red-carpet events and New York City parties in 2023, all while wearing head-turning ensembles that only she could pull off.

Here’s a look at some of her best outfits this year — and a few that missed the mark.

Kim Kardashian looked like a Hollywood starlet at the Time100 Gala in April.

Her John Galliano dress was white with bedazzled buckle straps, a scoop neckline, and a floor-length mermaid skirt.

Kardashian also carried a pearlescent clutch and wore a variety of diamond rings and layered necklaces that sparkled in the light.

But her outfit from a few days earlier at the Time100 Summit missed the mark.

Kardashian wore a see-through suit from Rick Owens that was meant to be ivory. But in certain lighting, the outfit appeared yellow and discolored.

It also looked a bit awkward due to the visible pocket linings beneath her pants and the oversized sleeves on her jacket.

Kardashian rocked an edgier aesthetic in May, and it worked for her.

During one New York City outing, the Skims founder was pH๏τographed wearing a black alligator-print dress that hugged her body.

It had a high neckline and an asymmetrical skirt that showcased her strappy, thigh-high sandals.

Kardashian completed the outfit with smokey eye makeup, a slicked-back hairstyle, and silver jewelry.

But her Met Gala outfit wasn’t as strong.

The Schiaparelli ensemble designed by Daniel Roseberry had strings of pearls draped across Kardashian’s chest and waist to create a halter top and matching skirt.

The craftsmanship was stunning. But the outfit’s visible shapewear beneath its gems was distracting, as was the white shawl Kardashian draped over her arms.

“The Kardashians” star proved that blue is her color at the end of the month.

The latex outfit she wore in New York City that month was the work of Balmain. It included a high-neck crop top with light ruching and a low-waisted skirt with a hip-high slit.

It was accessorized perfectly with see-through sandals, a sparkling anklet, a thin belly chain, and a long, wavy hairstyle.

One of her weakest looks of the year came in June when she wore printed athleisure to a fashion show.

Her outfit included a bralette top and high-waisted leggings in a pixelated green, brown, and tan print.

The design resembled that of a Minecraft video game character, and the addition of an oversized, fluffy fanny pack made the outfit too casual.

She donned a daring ensemble to attend a friend’s wedding in June, but it wasn’t her best look.

Kardashian’s two-piece outfit included a cutout halter top above a floor-length Alaïa skirt, making for a controversial, head-turning wedding look.

Unfortunately, the top’s thin cups looked too small, and its skirt was so long that it dragged along the floor. There was also a plastic panel that held the skirt’s cutouts together, which distracted from the elegance of its velvet fabric.

Kardashian sparkled at the Kering Caring for Women dinner in September.

Not only was her custom Balenciaga gown flattering, but its skin-tight fabric was also coated in iridescent sparkles that gave the dress a unique shine.

Kardashian made the pink outfit even better with pointed pumps, diamond rings, and rosy makeup.

One of her best fashion moments of the year happened in November when Kardashian stepped out covered in crystals.

Her two-piece outfit was custom-made by Giovanna Engelbert, Swarovski’s global creative director.

It included a high-neck, sleeveless top made entirely of crystals, and a matching miniskirt with an overlay of the same stones.
