Chris Evans ends six-month social media break to reveal what he’s thankful for on Thanksgiving… after marriage to Alba Baptista
Chris Evans officially ended his six-month social media break on Wednesday to reveal what he’s thankful for ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The 42-year-old action star – who boasts 18.9M Instagram followers – said: ‘Hi everyone! I’m back. I’m thankful for a lot of things this year, but dogs are always high on the list.’
In the video, Boston-born Chris – sporting a Red Sox cap – played with puppies up for adoption at Animal Haven, a nonprofit animal rescue in Manhattan founded in 1967.
‘Awww Jesus! Look at these guys, hello!’ Evans gushed. People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2022 also embraced a disabled dog, exclaiming: ‘You got your wheels! Look at you, hi!’
Animal Haven charges between $225-$395 per dog and it has a strict adoption policy requiring all potential buyers age 21+ to have personal/vet references, proof that pets are allowed in their household, and current pets must meet the new dog first.
Chris’ video (technically filmed for National Dog Day on August 26) was essentially a glorified paid partnership post for Jinx’s all-natural dog food.
Evans has been a brand ambᴀssador for Jinx since August 2022, and he helped the four-year-old startup raise $17M this year thanks to his star power.
The Pain Hustlers actor famously adopted his own beloved dog Dodger from Savannah, GA back in 2016, and he even got his name tattooed on his chest.
Dodger’s adoptive mother is none other than Chris’ wife – Warrior Nun star Alba Baptista – whom he wed in September after a two-year romance.
Evans is 16 years older than the Portuguese beauty, who next portrays Penny in Jimmy Warden’s upcoming bodyguard thriller, Borderline.
‘I got married! Thank you. Thank you. It was really, really great. We kind of had two ceremonies. We had one on the East Coast. We had one in Portugal. My wife’s Portuguese,’ the former Captain America announced onstage New York Comic-Con on October 14.
‘But they were wonderful and beautiful and it’s a lot planning a wedding. For those of you who are married, it takes a lot out of you. But now that we’re through that, we’ve kind of just been enjoying life, gearing up for autumn my favorite season. It’s like the best time of year right now. Now, we’re just relaxing and enjoying life and reflecting.’
Chris previously romanced Kate Bosworth, Jessica Biel, Emmy Rossum, Jenny Slate, Minka Kelly, Dianna Agroni, Lily Collins, and Christina Ricci.
Evans reprised his role as Lucas Lee for Bryan Lee O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski’s animated eight-episode spin-off series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, which premiered last Friday on Netflix.
The critically-acclaimed cartoon is based on O’Malley’s graphic novels made popular by Edgar Wright’s 2010 action rom-com Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, which earned $49.3M at the box office.
In February, the Ghosted producer-star wrapped his role as Jack O’Malley opposite Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in Jake Kasdan’s Christmas action-adventure comedy Red One, which premieres next year on Amazon Prime Video.
Oscar winner J.K. Simmons will take on the role of Santa Claus while Emmy nominee Bonnie Hunt will portray Mrs. Claus in the 102-minute flick also featuring Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, and Nick Kroll.
