Of course, online NFL rumors are not to be taken as seriously as official reports. However, sometimes, these speculations turn out to be true, so it is imperative that we examine some details and determine the likelihood of this happening.

Apparently, Miley Cyrus and Lil Wayne were on the shortlist to headline Super Bowl LVIII, but the spot ultimately went to Usher, who made NFL news by delivering an unforgettable performance alongside Alicia Keys, Will.i.am, and Ludacris.

About Time

Should Miley choose to perform, it would be her debut on the Super Bowl stage during halftime. However, she isn’t so far removed from the NFL that it wouldn’t make sense. She entertained over 7,500 health workers at the TikTok Tailgate pregame ceremony for Super Bowl LV previously.

Coming off a Miley Cyrus Grammys win, her fans are getting very excited about the promise of the pop star headlining the halftime show. And for good reason: She’s had a significant comeback in the past year and a half.

This ultimately leads me to believe that Cyrus performing the halftime show would be a good move for her. With any comeback, you need significant exposure and momentum to remain relevant. What better exposure than the 130 million halftime show viewers?

But you know who doesn’t need any more exposure? Taylor Swift.

Dreamed Girl

There is a significant online push to get Swift to perform at the Super Bowl next year. It makes total sense why the NFL would be pushing for this, considering her high-profile relationship with KC Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Her attendance at random NFL games last season alone made the league a ton of money. Imagine a Super Bowl performance? Now, that would be record-breaking.

However, in my opinion, I don’t see that happening at all. Taylor Swift is very protective of her reputation at this point in her career, and NFL halftime shows, pretty much no matter how well it goes, tend to draw in a lot of hate. Plus, after her nearly two-year-long Eras Tour, the woman needs to take a damn break.

Taking everything into consideration, Miley Cyrus is unquestionably the better and more realistic option. While there’s no confirmation, it certainly makes sense career-wise for her.
