Here’s Why Kendall Jenner Actively Avoided Her Sisters at the Met Gala 2023

A Kim and Kourtney feud may be at the heart of the most recent season of The Kardashians, but was there a storm brewing between lil’ sis Kendall Jenner, Kim and Kylie at the 2023 Met Gala that cameras didn’t catch? Turns out … no, but there was a reason Jenner tried to stay far, far away from her sisters. (And no, it has nothing to do with her “not feeling” like a Kardashian.)

In a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, Jenner shared that the reason she actively avoided her fellow attendees (the ones who share her DNA, anyway) wasn’t because she was mad at them, but because her Marc Jacobs boots made her absolutely tower over the 5’2″ Kim and 5’6″ Kylie. Jenner is 5’11”, and when she donned the knee-high, lace-up platform boots, she sH๏τ to about 6’7″.

There is a pretty hilarious pic of the siblings together, and Jenner does indeed look like a giant, especially when compared to Kim; the differences between their heights makes them look like they were green-screened or PH๏τoshopped in like one of the old Kardashian Christmas cards where you can tell none of them were in the same room, much less area code. But the elder sister did get some payback for being literally overshadowed by her supermodel sister, trolling her dating history with a funny T-shirt of all Jenner’s exes.

Jacobs, the creator of those mᴀssive black boots and Jenner’s pants-free Met Gala look, told WSJ that he saw her as herself, not a member of a famous family when he first cast her in 2014. “She was Kendall, she wasn’t Kendall Jenner, she wasn’t Kim’s little sister,” he explained. “I said [to Katie Grand later], if she fits in the clothes and looks good in the clothes and walks beautifully, I don’t see why she shouldn’t be in the cast. If you are only interested in her because she is Kendall Jenner, I’m not into it.” Today, the designer describes Jenner as “that very rare breed of model that has the beauty and has the larger-than-life personality, and truly brings this kind of magic to the clothes and the pH๏τographs. It’s the ultimate kind of ingredient to the equation.” A larger-than-life personality and larger-than-life boots to match!
