Joe Rogan lands in troubled waters after one of his old podcast clips resurfaces. How many times have you read that sentence before? Chances are, at least once. The podcast host is no stranger to controversy and it doesn’t bother Rogan in the least usually. So who’s been bothered this time?
About three years ago, Miley Cyrus appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience. The musician is well known to many for songs like Wrecking Ball and her latest song Flowers apart from many others. The two spoke about many things including Cyrus’ personal life when another famous musician was brought up, causing present troubles for Rogan.

The video came forth from episode number #1531 of The Joe Rogan Experience. This was back in 2020 and Miley Cyrus was keeping herself busy doing podcast episodes and promotional activities. On this particular occasion, Cyrus was speaking about her life experiences and how she found stardom. It was then, that she spoke of her little sister, Noah Cyrus.
“She’s got a record out that I love called ‘the end of everything’,” she told Rogan. “. . . and it’s the most depressing EP you’ll ever listen to. She’s 20 years old. She’s emo, she’s like en emo kid.” Noah Cyrus and her sister Miley Cyrus share very different tastes in music in comparison to each other.
Where the older sibling is into pop music, Noah on the other hand has a more topical genre and record-list under her belt. The music has made her millions of fans over the past few years. However, Rogan felt that perhaps medical help was in order for the singer-songwriter.

“Why is she emo? Maybe ‘cause she was on the road with you and didn’t go to a regular school?” Rogan asked without hesitation. “Maybe she needs to go to a doctor.” He added later on. In a recent turn of events, the video went viral via a fan page dedicated to Miley Cyrus. It came up with a comment by Noah Cyrus that said “The disrespect in this video…” Clearly, the comments by Rogan and the discussion itself didn’t sit right with the musician.
Noah Cyrus has been vocal about mental health issues
The musician is no stranger to mental health issues. She has earlier reported that her addiction to relief medication such as Xanax hit its peak in the year 2020, the same year Miley Cyrus appeared for this podcast episode. The singer-songwriter has been very vocal about her issues and her music also reflects it all. giving everyone around a quiet glimpse into it all.
Many fans felt that Rogan’s comments were simply insensitive, especially because he did not even know Noah Cyrus’ name when the conversation came up. So the question worth asking here simply is, did Joe Rogan know enough about Cyrus’ struggles to recommend help on the fly in a public interview? Answers remain in the hands of the public.
