Kanye West Says He ‘Embarrᴀssed’ Kim Kardashian With Presidential Run

Kanye West as shared that he “embarrᴀssed” his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian with his failed run for U.S. president last year.

The rapper and designer announced his bid for the White House on the Fourth of July, 2020—revealing that he was running as an Independent under the “Birthday Party”—after publicly expressing his support for then-President Donald Trump.

And in an Instagram post тιтled “Thanksgiving Prayer,” West—who recently changed his name to Ye—spoke candidly about a number of missteps he has made in his life, listing his ill-fated foray into politics as one of them.

Referring to the Trump-supporting “Make America Great Again” cap he took to wearing, West said in the video post, which he shared on Thursday: “Good lord, my wife did not like me wearing the red hat.

“Being a good wife, she just wanted to protect me and our family. I made me and our family a target by not aligning with Hollywood’s political stance, and that was hard for our marriage.

“Then I ran for president without proper preparation and no allies on either side. I embarrᴀssed my wife in the way that I presented information about our family during the one and—thank God—only press conference. All my dad had to say afterwards was, ‘Write you speech next time, son.'”

West’s presidential campaign hit a stumbling block the same month that he announced his plans to run, when he held a disastrous press conference, during which he told how he and Kardashian had discussed aborting their first child.

Days later, Kardashian publicly addressed her husband’s mental health issues for the first time, as she wrote in an Instagram post: “As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand.
