Kendall Jenner compares her childhood to Hannah Montana ‘without the disguise’

Although Kendall found similarities in the character in terms of being young and famous, she admitted that she wasn’t able to maintain a completely normal teenage life like Miley Cyrus’ character did on the hit Disney show

Kendall Jenner opens up about the double life she felt she was living growing up, comparing her childhood to Hannah Montana in the latest episode of the Anything Goes podcast.

The 28-year-old supermodel drew parallels between her coming of age in the spotlight on Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Miley Cyrus’ character on the hit Disney show, which ran from 2006 to 2011. Although Kendall found similarities in the character in terms of being young and famous, she admitted that she wasn’t able to maintain a completely normal teenage life like Miley did. Unlike the fictional TV character, she didn’t have an alter-ego like Miley’s Hannah Montana nor a “disguise” that went with her alter-ego to conceal her real idenтιтy.

“It’s a little Hannah Montana-y in a way,” the Kardashians star told Emma Chamberlain. “[But] I didn’t have a disguise, or I didn’t have a physical shift.”

Kendall confessed that her life had a bit of normalcy despite her family being on a TV show as she was growing up.

“We went to school. We went to school as long as we could,” she explained on the podcast. “I started home school, 11th and 12th grade … so even though we had a TV show at home, we were going to regular school all day and had our friends that we had from before the show started.”

Kendall mentioned that though it wasn’t “always easy it did feel kind of normal.” Further adding, “We lived as much of a normal life as, I think, was possible and I’m so grateful for that.”

When Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered on E! in 2007 she was only 11. Much of the show was centered around her oldest sisters Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe Kardashians lives, documenting their career plans and love lives. However, Kendall and her younger sister Kylie Jenner, 26, also got a lot of camera time as they became beloved for their hilarious pre-teen antics.

Even though the well-known Jenner sisters had to deal with “very adult things at a really young age” such as “internet hate,” Kendall is still thankful for where they are now.

“Overall, I am really grateful because I think it could have been a lot worse,” she said. “I think that Kylie and I, the one thing we had was a lot of stability, a lot of love and a really great support system and really great friends,”

She continued: “So it felt like we could remove ourselves a lot of the time and be normal.”
