Kendall Jenner Debuts Blonde Hair Inspired by Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy (and She Looks Like a Total ‘90s Babe)

Hairstylist and colorist Jenna Perry revealed to Vogue how long it took her to transform Jenner’s brunette hair into this golden blonde color

Kendall Jenner is keeping up with hair trends.

It seems the changing of the seasons left the model and 818 Tequila itching for a change — and she decided to fully take the plunge with a major switch-up.

For fall, The Kardashians star, 28, decided to ditch her long dark hair for a soft golden blonde color and layered mid-length cut (done by Jenna Perry and Jessica Gillin).

Jenner debuted the look via Instagram on Wednesday, Sept. 11. The pH๏τos show her rocking the bleached ‘do with a headband in one pH๏τo and in a claw-clip updo like it’s the ‘90s again in another.

She also teamed her hair with a leather blazer and jeans, which really let the brightness of the new color shine.

Speaking with Vogue about the transformation, Perry said that Jenner is currently “inspired by the ’90s and Caroline Bessette-Kennedy,” hence how chic the hairstyle is.

Perry added that it took her two days to fully take Jenner’s signature brunette color to a lighter shade, though the darker roots peeking through give the whole look a natural feel.

This isn’t the first time Jenner has gone to the light side, having been blonde multiple times in the past.

In 2019, she made a daring decision to go platinum for the Burberry fashion show, unveiling her new look on the runway. And it looks like her big blonde comeback has been something her family and friends have been waiting for for a long time.

“You did it!!!” her sister — and certified member of the blonde celebs club — Kim Kardashian wrote under her Instagram post. At the same time, her best friend, Hailey Bieber, commented: “exactly.”

Jenner’s new pH๏τos were taken in New York, even though she’s been notably absent from New York Fashion Week, which kicked off on Sept. 6. However, she’s been taking part in the scene in the form of major campaigns.

Just last week, she was seen rocking a very Kris Jenner-like pixie cut in Calvin Klein’s new fall campaign. In August, she starred in a new ad for Tory Burch’s new fragrance Sublime, sporting a bold red ʙικιɴι that put her abs on full display.
