Kendall Jenner Finds a New Way to Wear an Old Clᴀssic

Kendall Jenner has been more of a spectator this fashion month. Though the model returned to the runway for the stacked Versace show in Milan, she has mostly been watching on from the front row. There is perhaps no likelier place for Jenner to be than at The Row’s spring 2024 show in Paris today, where she watched on as a fan for the first time.

While she’s modeled for everyone from Prada to Proenza Schouler, Jenner has never lent her likeness to the cult favorite label. Though she hasn’t worked for the brand in a professional capacity, it does make up a large chunk of her personal style, from her sleek trousers to her precious Mary Janes.

For the last several years, Jenner’s sense of personal style could be distilled down to neutral colors, sleek silhouettes, and (in breaking from many of her family members) label-free—The Row’s modus operandi. While this generally still rings true, the model and tequila entrepreneur is beginning to edge out of her comfort zone. From blazing the pantless trail to experimenting with structured shoulders and leather corseting, Jenner is experimenting with a more elevated take on her fashion philosophy.

Jenner’s look at The Row’s show today further underscores her new lease on style. She wore what appeared to be a khaki top tucked into a black midi skirt. But upon further inspection, the 818 founder actually wore The Row’s double-breasted June trench coat in sage green, whose hem could be seen poking out from the slit of her calf-length skirt, which she cinched with the brand’s gold Brian belt. True to form, she accessorized with staples from her wardrobe: a pair of black leather loafers, a pair of dark ovular sunglᴀsses, and a black bag from—you guessed it!—The Row.

The look was unexpected, yet still checked all of her boxes. As do several pieces from The Row’s spring 2024 collection, including a draped, cape-like brown coat, a high-necked, drop-waisted vermillion dress, and a black coat with wide lapels that extend into a dramatic shoulder. Surely, if she stays on this track, Jenner will be seen wearing these in the not-so-distant future. Hopefully with some equally unexpected styling.
