Kendall Jenner Wears Subtle Makeup, a Ponytail, and Pants to the 2018 Met Gala

Compared to the jaw-dropping, see-through ensemble and bright-red lips she wore to last year’s Met Gala, Kendall Jenner aimed for a decidedly tamer look this time around, from both a style and beauty standpoint. The 22-year-old model stepped out on the red carpet with date Virgil Abloh wearing a stunning all-white pantsuit reminiscent of older sister’s Kim’s Vivienne Westwood look from 2017. But, of course, that’s not all.

We couldn’t help but notice that the oldest Jenner sister went straightforward — and noticeably subtler — with her beauty beat, too. Though that’s not to say it’s not equally out-of-this-world. With a waist-length ponytail courtesy of longtime hairstylist and friend, Jen Atkin, and a smoky eye so sultry and mesmerizing it makes us want to wear it to every black-tie event for the rest of time, she nailed it on every single level. (And it’s worth noting she didn’t even have to wear a crown to do so.)

To add balance to the look, Jenner kept the rest of her makeup fresh and minimal, with ɴuᴅᴇ-pink glossy lips, a light contour, some rosy blush, and an all-over sweep of bronzer to add warmth and definition. In all, it’s pure perfection. What’s more, it’s super similar to Kim Kardashian West’s beauty look from last year, too, which also featured smoky eye makeup and light pink lips. Was K-Jen pulling inspiration from her makeup mogul sis? It’s entirely possible.
