Kendall Jenner’s Givenchy Dress Includes a Very Risqué Back Cutout at the 2024 Met Gala

Kendall Jenner took the “The Garden of Time” dress code for this year’s Met Gala a little more figuratively. The model arrived to the Met Museum, wearing an archival 1999 Givenchy dress with a plunge neckline and more risqué back cutout. Beauty-wise, her look was more subdued, with her retro hairstyle and long, waist-long locks taking the focus.

Jenner walked the red carpet on her own.

Her appearance this year is very different from last year’s look. There, to celebrate the “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” exhibit , Jenner wore a black sequin Marc Jacobs bodysuit with floor-length sleeves. She styled her hair up in a ponytail.

Jenner has never attended the Met Gala with a partner. This year, her ex-boyfriend, Bad Bunny, happens to be a co-chair. Jenner’s own love life has been more private since their fall 2023 breakup. Most recently, Jenner and her ex Devin Booker were reported to be rekindling their relationship in February 2024.

Jenner spoke last June to WSJ magazine about why she won’t want to talk about her relationships in interviews. At that point, she had declined to speak about then-boyfriend Bunny.

“I try [to] find the balance of keeping things private and keeping things sacred, [and] also not letting the unfortunate frustration and stress of everyone trying to get in on it stop me from enjoying my side,” she said. “Does that make sense? I’ll go out of my way to do things as privately as possible because I just think that that’s the healthier way of dealing with relationships anyway.”

Jenner is more forthcoming on her style. She spoke to ELLE.com in August 2023 about how, regarding trends, “I am always willing to take a risk.”

When it comes to her favorite pieces, she said, “a versatile pair of jeans is a must for every season, especially fall. Typically, my go-to for the barn, meeting friends, or going to work is a great pair of denim.”
