Kim Kardashian leaves the internet divided after teasing first glimpse of herself as the new face of Marc Jacobs
Kim Kardashian earned mixed reviews on social media users after teasing her first campaign as the new face of Marc Jacobs on Tuesday.
The image, which was centered on her right eye and plump pout, was sH๏τ by film director Tyrone Lebon and styled by creative director Alastair McKimm.
After the American fashion brand uploaded a striking close-up sH๏τ of the reality star, 42, to their Instagram account, social media users were quick to voice their opinions on her new role.
While Marc Jacobs, himself, commented ‘love’ under the post, an overwhelming amount of fans expressed disappointment to see Kardashian’s face.
‘What happened with other models??? WHY KIM on everything?’ one asked, while another admitted they hoped the campaign was ‘some kind of joke.’
Others asked why the brand doesn’t work with ‘real fashion icons’ like Victoria Beckham. Previous Marc Jacobs campaigns have featured celebrities like Paris Hilton, Winona Ryder, Pamela Anderson and Nicki Minaj.
Meanwhile, Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, reposted the image as well as a video of a man putting up posters of the campaign on the street.
In May, she previously modeled for Marc Jacobs X Fendi. At the time, Kim hashtagged #MarcJacobsXFendi, adding @Fendi, @MrKimJones and @Silviaaventurinifendi.
Her look, consisting of a statement furry hat and sleeveless corset crop top, from Marc Jacobs X Fendi’s Summer 2023 capsule collection launched on May 11.
Later in the evening, Kardashian returned to Instagram to share an article, тιтled Expert Opinion: Genocide against Armenians in 2023.
She had reposted a post by physician, Eric Esrailian, who urged his followers to please share this report by Luis Moreno Ocampo. Ocampo was the former Chief Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court.
Esrailian explained that Ocampo ‘argues Azerbaijan’s blockade of the Lachin corridor should be considered a genocide against the ethnic Armenians of Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh.’
‘The government of Azerbaijan is using oil & gas leverage to cleanse the Christian Armenian population from the region,’ Esrailian continued.
Over the years, Kardashian has shared information about the Armenian genocide on mulтιтude of occasions to inform her followers about the more than ‘1.5 million people who were mᴀssacred’ in 1915.
