Lainey Wilson says Miley Cyrus is her next dream collab: ‘You’re probably like, ‘What in the world?!’

‘I’d love to do something with Miley Cyrus’

After landing a song with her dream duet partner, Dolly Parton, on The Judds’ tribute album arriving October 27, Lainey Wilson has her sights set on a new dream duet and she’s keeping it in the family.

Wilson recently revealed she’d love to secure a collaboration with mega Pop star, and Dolly Parton’s Goddaughter, Miley Cyrus. The collab would not only be a dream come true for Wilson, but also a full-circle moment as she used to work as a Hannah Montana impersonator before “making it” in the music biz.

“[I’d] love to do something with Miley Cyrus,” Lainey shared of her new dream collab. “You’re probably like, ‘What in the world?!’’ She laughed. “Well, turns out, I used to impersonate Hannah Montana from middle school through high school. I had ‘The Best of Both Worlds,’” she joked.  “That’s why I would love to do a song with Ms. Miley Cyrus.”

Miley isn’t the only one on Lainey’s collab wishlist — she also shared Country outlaw, Eric Church is an artist she’d love to work with. “I’d love to do something with Mr. Eric Church, I think he is just so cool — I’ve loved what he has done for years.”

Collaborations or not, Lainey is continually bringing the heat with her music and takes it to the next level with her live shows. Lucky for fans, Lainey recently revealed she’ll be hitting the road with her very own headlining tour kicking off May 31 in Nashville. The Country’s Cool Again Tour will bring Wilson’s high-energy live show across major U.S. cities including New York, Los Angeles, Boise, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City and more.

“My pre-show ritual looks like a sH๏τ of whiskey and a prayer,” Wilson shared of how she prepares to bring top-notch energy each night. “When I’m on stage I have this thing I call the energy exchange — whatever the crowd is giving me, is what I’m giving back. Whatever I put out to the crowd, they give it right back as well.”

Included in the tour’s setlist, fans can be sure to expect Wilson to perform her most recent #1, “Watermelon Moonshine,” a tune she says “bottles up” some of the best moments of her life. “Watermelon Moonshine is such a special song to me because it tells my story,” she shared. “It tells about a time in my life when nothing else mattered. It takes me back to a time and place when I thought, ‘Man, this is it, I want to feel this way forever. I wanna bottle it up.’”

Another moment Lainey has “bottled up,” is one of her career highs when she was presented the award for Female Artist of the Year by Dolly Parton at the 2023 ACM Awards.

“A memory that sticks out for me has got to be at the ACMs this year, when Ms. Dolly Parton gave me the Female Artist of the Year [Award]. I got to meet her on that stage in that very moment — it was a moment that I will never forget just because Dolly Parton means so much to me and she has taught me a lot on stage and off stage.”

Wilson is sure not to take moments like the above for granted and says she is doing her best to stay humbled amidst her hard-earned success. “I guess you could say that lately we have been living the Country music dream — I’m trying to keep one foot on the ground as this crazy, crazy whirlwind just keeps on unraveling.”
