Lainey Wilson: She’s Ready To Work With Miley Cyrus

Lainey Wilson did a new interview this week with Glamour magazine. In the new article, she said that she’s is ready to work with Miley Cyrus. In her teens, Lainey worked as a Hannah Montana impersonator. She told the publication, “At some point in time, me and Miley Cyrus have to work together.”

Wilson added of her Hannah Montana impersonating days, “I would do four or five birthday parties a weekend. Sometimes I would open up as Lainey Wilson and then I’d run backstage and change into my Hannah Montana wig and do my 15-song karaoke show.”

Lainey also revealed what her favorite country song of all time is, noting that she thinks Keith Whitley’s “When You Say Nothing at All” by Keith Whitley is “timeless” and could be a hit today.

And those trademark bell bottoms she loves so much? She said she doesn’t wear them everywhere like she used to because “like in the airport, you have to be careful.” She added that there was a time in her life where “I made sure that I was making a statement everywhere I went.”

Wilson said she buys the bell bottoms she wears in her shows at an ETSY store and that Wrangler “makes a great pair of bell bottoms.” When asked if she will ever give them up, she said she likes “trying new things,” and she is not “hanging them up just yet” because they still make her “feel good” and “powerful.”

Lainey is what many people online and beyond call country at its most authentic, and she embraces that. She said, “To me, country is being a good person.” She added that she thinks about country folks and hard work. She concluded that she takes being country as a “huge compliment” because it’s the truth.

5 LAINEY WILSON MUSIC VIDEOS EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH

“Things A Man Oughta Know” (2020)

This music video is quite personal as it was filmed in Lainey’s own home and filled with personal elements and close friends. It was released on April 2, 2021.

Wilson told us at the time of release, “I hoped that people would connect to this song, and it’s been so incredible to see just how strong the reaction has been. For the music video, we wanted to create a piece of art where people could watch it and feel something all over again.”

“Heart Like A Truck” (2022)

This cinematic video stars Lainey as a stable hand who is brought in to earn the trust of a free-spirited pony that no one else has been able to tame. Through time, care, and patience, she can get through the difficult period and eventually rides the horse around the farm, designed to mirror her own approach to relationships.

Wilson recently celebrated the song going to number one on the country charts with a party on Music Row, where she and the song’s co-writers sang it from their own separate truck beds in a parking lot.

“Grease” (2023)

This song was never released as a single, but they did make a music video of it, and it’s kind of personal to this journalist as my buddy, a budding country singer named Presley, is a dancing extra in it, dancing right beside Lainey. The video features a bunch of breakdancers all dancing to the song in front of Wilson’s tour buses.
