Liam Hemsworth’s Divorce From Miley Cyrus Left Him Convinced He’ll Never Commit Again
It’s been over four years since Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus divorced, following an on-and-off relationship that spanned a decade.
Even though the Hunger Games actor has moved on and is currently in a relationship with Gabriella Brooks, a new report says he’s unsure if he’ll ever be able to walk down the aisle again, given how much his marriage to Miley affected him.
Liam’s Family Wants Him To Propose Over The Holidays
Speaking to Life and Style, a source said that Gabriella is becoming more vocal about her hopes of getting engaged soon. She’s been dating Liam for four years, as they got together soon after he split from the Hannah Montana alum.
Nevertheless, it appears the Hemsworth family has been vocal about their hopes that Liam and Gabriella will get engaged. “They adore Gabriella and have been telling Liam it’s normal to have ups and downs,” the source revealed/ “They hope he’ll make his move over Christmas!”
Liam and Miley tied the knot in 2018, only for the singer to file for divorce the following year. It was finalized in early 2020. The pair didn’t give much insight into their break-up at the time, but Miley has been more vocal in recent years with her side of the story.
Miley Explained In September Why She Divorced Liam
In September, Miley made a TikTok video revealing when she decided to end the marriage. “Glastonbury was in June [2019], which was when the decision had been made.”
“The day of the [Glastonbury] show was the day I had decided it was no longer going to work in my life to be in that relationship,” Miley went on. “That was another moment where the work, the performance, the character came first. I guess that’s why it’s now so important to me for that not to be the case — that the human comes first.”
She further explained that their decision to get married was largely prompted by the November 2018 California wildfires, in which they lost their home. The former Disney star says the tragedy brought them closer together, leading them to finally tie the knot.
“Me and Liam’s commitment to being married, of course came from a place of love first because we had been together for 10 years, but also from a place of trauma and just trying to rebuild as quickly as we could,” she explained.
Miley has been linked to several people in the years since her divorce from Liam. She’s currently dating Maxx Morando. The pair first went public with their relationship in November 2021, though it’s unclear when they first started dating.
Miley has expressed indecision on whether she’ll get married again in the future and has also said she doesn’t want to have kids, a decision that apparently caused tension in her marriage to Liam, who reportedly wants a family someday.
