Manuel Turizo believes that “Empty Cup” with Shakira will be a hit that will see the light “very soon”

Medellín.- The launch of “Copa Vacía”, the collaboration of Manuel Turizo with Shakira, will see the light “very soon”, according to EFE, the Colombian singer tells EFE, who suspects it will be a “hit”, despite noting that the public will have the last word.

“It’s going to come out well soon. We already have a date, but I can’t say it. It’s the next release,” advances the interpreter of “La Bachata” on his way through Medellín, where he will give a concert this Friday at the La Bachata event center. Macarena. “It was brutal,” Turizo said of the experience of collaborating with the “queen of Latin music,” as he referred to the owner of global hits “Waka Waka” and “Hips Dont ‘Lie.”

All Latin artists would like to have the opportunity to do this. For me, she is the queen of Latin music, she is one of the greatest references that we have. It was incredible. It was as I dreamed it,” says the singer of “Una lady like you” and who has recently collaborated with other world-class artists such as Rauw Alejandro, Piso 21 and Myke Towers.

When asked about the possibility of this new song being a success, as Shakira did with her latest releases such as “TQG”, along with Karol G, and “BZRP Music Session #53”, by the Argentine producer Bizarrap, Turizo reveals expecting the same response from the fans.

“I think so (it will be a hit)… you can feel many things, but the people are the only ones who decide. I love it and I enjoyed it, which is the important thing to fill my heart, my dreams, my things. The people decide if they want it to be a hit or not,” says the singer-songwriter. For the man from Montería, the creative part flowed well between the two, and he believes that “it helped that we are both coastal”, in addition to confessing that he did not feel intimidated by a world star and only tried to be “real” before her.

“You have to be yourself and real in front of anyone, no matter how big, no matter how famous they are, no matter how much you admire them,” he says.

QUIET, ON TOUR AND WITHOUT FOLLOWING TRENDS

Although the collaboration was known since February and they leaked a piece of the chorus and an image in which Shakira appears dressed as a mermaid, the release was delayed while the Barranquilla-born singer shook up the charts with other songs as “Acrostic”, dedicated to his children.

“It’s normal for this situation to happen”, comments Turizo in this regard, adding that he is “calm”: “If it has to happen, it will happen”, meanwhile he continues “very happy” with his tour “2000 Tour”, which will have in Puerto Rico, in Europe and will close in the United States.

He says that appearing this Friday in Medellín will be “special” because his artistic career began in that city, and then he will arrive in Bogotá, where they gave him “too much love”, to give a concert on Sunday with which he will evoke important moments in his career.

“If there are 300 discos in Bogotá, I sang 300 of them and I know 300 of them,” she releases, alluding to his presentations when she was just emerging as a singer.

Lastly, Turizo is pleased with the good response his album “2000” has received, from which the hits “La Bachata” and “El Merengue” come off, and which he defines as “very personal”.

“I feel that it is very different from what is happening in Latin music at the moment, and that was exactly the idea, to make it very inspired by those who were my musical references, what I like to listen to, not suddenly following the fashions or tendencies”, maintains the artist.
