Justin Bieber remains managed by Scooter Braun – for now.

An insider told People Tuesday that the 29-year-old pop star has been forging ahead on a new album without actively collaborating with Braun, 42.

The Canadian pop star is ‘still managed’ by Braun, who he hasn’t talked to in almost a year, numerous insiders told the outlet.

Details of the longtime business relationship come amid a tumultuous time for the entertainment executive, who has recently lost Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato as clients of his company SB Projects.

‘Justin’s been working on his new record for the last six months,’ a source told the outlet. ‘Scooter and SB Projects have not set up one session or done one thing for this record, the source said, adding that the Peaches singer’s ‘relationship with Scooter has run its course.’

Lovato parted ways with Braun Monday after he was her manager for four years; Grande on Monday ceased using Braun as her manager after a decade, an insider told the publication, adding that it was the singer’s choice.

‘They are friendly but she’s outgrown him and is excited to go in a different direction,’ the source said of Grande, adding that ‘t’s time for something new.’

The source noted that ‘there are negotiations happening because of contracts.’ Entertainers Idina Menzel and J Balvin also broke off from Braun earlier this year.

An industry insider told People that ‘as Scooter steps into his larger role’ as American CEO of the South Korean entertainment company HYBE, a number of his clients have been ‘under contract and negotiations … for several months.’

The insider said that ‘people are spreading rumors based on what they know, but they are off’ in their speculation.

‘Scooter’s team at SB Projects are still handling both Justin and Ariana as they work through what this new structure looks like,’ the source said.

Braun took to Twitter to poke fun at his professional predicament Tuesday, saying, ‘Breaking news … I’m no longer managing myself.’

Braun discovered Bieber on YouTube when the Baby singer was 13-years-old, and eventually inked him to the label he was working for with Usher, Raymond Braun Media Group.

Braun opened up on the ‘very different bond’ he shares with the Grammy-winning artist while speaking with Complex in 2012. ‘The common misconception – because I’m 13 years older than him – is that it’s a little brother,’ he said. ‘It’s more like an uncle or a dad.’

Braun said he ‘kind of realized it being on the road with Justin’s mom’ Pattie Mallette, adding that ‘she’s not a disciplinarian, and he needed that person in his life.’

Braun’s professional stock has risen with Bieber’s, as he went on to manage artists including the Black Eyed Peas, Carly Rae Jepsen and Kanye West over the years.

A major controversy between Braun and Taylor Swift erupted in June of 2019 when Braun purchased Swift’s master recordings from Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta.

The entertainment executive and A-list pop star have reportedly not spoken in months

Amid news of the departures on Monday, a number of Swift’s fans took to social media to celebrate, quoting lyrics from her 2022 track Karma and speculating on a potential collaboration between Swift and Grande.

In a June 2019 Tumblr post, Swift expressed her disappointment over the high-profile transaction.

‘Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it,’ Swift said. ‘For years I asked, pleaded for a chance to own my work. Instead, I was given an opportunity to sign back up to Big Machine Records and “earn” one album back at a time, one for every new one I turned in.’

Nearly a year and a half later, Braun went on to sell the master recordings for more than $300 million.

Swift has said she intends to re-record her first six records, having released the albums Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version) and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) with 1989 (Taylor’s Version) due out this fall.
