Shakira Does All-leather in Alex Perry Corset Top and Matching Shorts for Billboard Latin Music Week 2023

Shakira leaned into her edgy style while attending a panel during the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Week in Miami on Wednesday, opting for an edgy faux leather outfit. To speak on the “Hits Don’t Lie: The Superstar Q&A With Shakira” panel, the singer wore a black corset top that featured a sweetheart neckline with matching shorts from Alex Perry. She completed the look with matching thigh-high Giuseppe Zanotti boots.

During the intimate conversation, which was moderated by Billboard Español’s chief content officer Leila Cobo, Shakira opened up about her music writing process, the support of her fans and how music has helped her through all stages of life.

“In composition, writing has always played a therapeutic role. I write the most when I’m at my worst. Life gives me a blow, and from this, I have learned a lot and I feel stronger,” the singer told Cobo at the panel on Wednesday, later adding, “My music has been my main survival tool.”

Shakira has had a widely successful year, taking the number-nine spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for her single with Bizarrap, “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.” The songstress, who just released her latest single “El Jefe” featuring Fuerza Regida, was awarded the MTV Video Vanguard Award at the 2023 MTV VMAs in September. To receive the prestigious honor, which has also been awarded to Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears in past years, Shakira wore a gold Versace gown with abdominal cutouts.
