Shakira looks red H๏τ in mini dress as she picks up EIGHT awards at 2023 Premios Juventud event in Puerto Rico… and gets sweet hugs from sons

Shakira had all eyes on her while attending the 2023 Premios Juventud awards in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Thursday.

The Whenever, Wherever hitmaker, 46, commanded attention in a fiery red mini dress that showed off her incredible figure.

The Colombian singer paired the red H๏τ ensemble with matching sunglᴀsses, and wore her honey tresses cascading down in waves.

The beauty, who skipped the red carpet, took home eight awards, including Best Pop/Urban Track.

Upon learning she would be taking home the most trophies of the night, the mother-of-two gushed on stage: ‘The best luck I’ve had is with my fans. You inspire me to be better and to never give up.’

‘To be honest, when I had self-doubt, you made me believe in myself again. When I feel fragile, you give me strength. You’ve protected me, you’ve been loyal. You celebrate my joy and are with me in my struggles. It’s because of you I want to be a better musician, a better person,’ she continued.

At one point during the night, she was seen hugging her sons Milan, ten, and Sasha, seven, who were in the audience.

Shakira was also honored with the Agent of Change Award along with singer Camila Cabello, 26.

As she accepted the honor, the Colombian powerhouse said: ‘We live in an ambiguous world, surrounded by good music, beauty, TikTok dances, filtered selfies.’

‘But there are realities that cannot be filtered or made up. There are places where people who are born poor die poor because they do not have the opportunity to receive a quality education.’

‘Places where, although it is still hard to believe, people are discriminated against because of their Sєxual preferences, the color of their skin or their social class,’ she continued.

‘It is an imperfect world, but fortunately it is constantly changing. And that is a truth that cannot be wasted. When my 10-year-old son tells me with sadness that a friend of his would like to change his skin color because he doesn’t feel part of it or that someone else is being pushed aside because of his preferences.’

She went on to say as a mother, it is her responsibility to ‘show him that he doesn’t have to be quiet’ and that ‘he can ‘raise his hand’ and use his voice to ‘complain about that and everything else he disagrees with.’

Speaking to her eldest directly, she said: ‘That’s the way it is, Milán. And I am relieved to see, I am very, very relieved to see that this youth knows how to do it more and more.’

‘In the social networks, you amplify the news that concerns us and bring to light stories that if it were not for them, if it were not for you, these stories would not be known.’

‘You question things, you point out injustice, you seek the truth. And today Milán and Sasha are here with me, which is a great joy for me. I want my children to understand that to be an agent of change you don’t have to be a female pop star,’ she added.

She urged listeners to understand that ‘you don’t have to be famous or rich’ to be ‘an agent of change.’

‘You just have to differentiate what is right from what is wrong. You just have to believe that it is possible to change things and not let anyone tell you otherwise,’ she encouraged.

‘That is power and you, the youth, have that power. And if you are angry and if you are uncomfortable with exclusion, and if you do not allow yourselves to be anesthetized by the pain of others.’

Shakira concluded: ‘If you raise your voice and do not lower your arms, then I can rest ᴀssured that my children and that you are and will be the hope of many and are also and will be the true agents of change.’

Shakira shares her boys with soccer player Gerard Piqué, 36.

The former couple confirmed the end of their 11-year relationship last June, shortly after the former FC Barcelona and Spain footballer was accused of cheating on the singer.

Pique, who has since embarked on a new relationship with model Clara Chia Marti, later refuted claims of an affair, insisting there was ‘no infidelity on his part’.

Shakira recently admitted that she did not think she was ‘going to survive’ after finding out her ex ‘betrayed’ her while her father, William Mebarak Chadid, was in the ICU.

‘I was finding out through the press that I had been betrayed while my dad was in the ICU,’ she told People en Español.

During the interview, Shakira went on to say: ‘The man I have loved the most in my life, my father, was leaving me when I needed him the most. I couldn’t talk to him, or go to my best friend for the advice I needed so much.’

Speaking of her father’s marriage to her mother, Nidia Ripoll Torrado, Shakira said their relationship is ‘a reflection of that dream that didn’t come true for’ her.

Still, she hopes they serve as ‘role models’ to her kids as a good example of a healthy marriage.
