Shakira on ‘The Tonight Show’: “They had to put up with so much sнιт as I did”

“He sent me a DM, but I didn’t see it until like three months later,” the singer declared. “Yes, it took you about two months to answer me” replied the young music producer. Shakira laughingly replied that “it wasn’t on purpose,” she just doesn’t look at the DMs.

Shakira acknowledged in the interview that the reception “has been incredible”. “I’m just waiting for someone to pinch me and wake me up from this dream. It’s incredible to feel the reaction of so many people” the singer acknowledged during the interview.

“The thing about this song is that it has become a kind of anthem for so many women. I’ve had a very hard year after my breakup. And writing this song has been very important to me. It’s been a healthy way for me to channel my emotions,” said Shakira.

The one from Barranquilla has recognized that she has “a sisterhood of women who have gone through the same things I have gone through, who think as I think, who feel as I feel, who have had to put up with as much sнιт as I have”.
