Shakira reveals she was ATTACKED by a rat during her mermaid shoot for ‘Copa Vacia,’ got rescued by crane
During the filming of her latest music video for the song ‘Copa Vacia‘, Shakira had an unexpected encounter with a rat. The Colombian singer donned a mermaid outfit and sprawled amidst trash when the sneaky rodent startled her. As seen in an Instagram video which got viral, she screamed and hurriedly rose, leaving her hair extensions behind. Nevertheless, Shakira resumed the shoot smoothly, undeterred by the unexpected moment.
Shakira tried hard to remove her awkward mermaid costume, all while avoiding a playful rat. The video had a humorous caption, “Cosas que le pasan hasta a las sirenas (Things that happen even to mermaids).”
While filming, Shakira encountered difficulty while exiting the tank. Unfortunately, the tank broke, leading to flooding on the set. As a result of her mermaid tail, a crane was required to safely extract her from the wreckage. Despite the unexpected incident, Shakira remained composed and even mentioned that Manuel Turizo had amusingly predicted the tank breaking. Which ultimately proved to be accurate despite all the safety precautions taken on set.
In the ‘Copa Vacia’ music video, Shakira revealed that the symbolism of the mermaid character is very significant. She sees the mermaid as representative of her own journey back to herself after going through challenging times. The character of the mermaid in the video sacrifices a lot for love and ultimately ends up in a garbage dump surrounded by rats. However, she manages to find her way back to her natural habitat. Thus, it is ironic that actual rats caused mayhem in the set.
Rumours of Shakira and Lewis Hamilton’s relationship resurface
Shakira and Lewis Hamilton were heavily rumoured to be dating in the last six months. They were both spotted dining at a restaurant along with some friends after the Miami Grand Prix. She also went to Silverstone GP to support him. However, the murmurs decreased after the Colombian singer was seen at a restaurant in London with Miami Heats star Jimmy Butler.
Now the rumours have resurfaced. Lewis Hamilton apparently met Shakira three times in a villa in Ibiza where she was staying for a holiday. After the working staff left, the Mercedes racer went to meet her in the mansion. Hamilton’s driver is said to have overheard the conversations between them.
