Shakira tops the list of the most-viewed female artist on YouTube with her Gerard Pique breakup hits

Colombian popstar Shakira became the most-viewed female artist on YouTube so far this year. The songstress has been in the headlines from time to time after her split from her long-time lover and partner Gerard Pique.

A recent survey claimed that Shakira had three billion views so far this year. She was followed by Karol G and Black Pink with 2.60 billion and 2.16 billion views respectively on that same list.

Shakira has been the talk of the town for quite some time now. She has recently been linked with several famous figures like Tom Cruise and Jimmy Butler. The latest name to be added to the list was F1 driver, Lewis Hamilton. The pop star was seen being out frequently at the same place as Hamilton. Shakira was at the Spanish GP during his race. Later, she was seen enjoying dinner with the driver and his friends.

Following her split with Pique, Shakira released quite a few songs that received a great response on the internet. Most of these songs were alleged ‘diss tracks’ that she aimed at her ex after he cheated on her with Clara Chia Marti. The ongoing tensing situation between Shakira and Pique seems to have gained Shakira a lot more popularity and helped her in her already illustrious music career.

Shakira claimed that Gerard Pique had a very tense relationship with Pep Guardiola during the manager’s time at FC Barcelona. Shakira and Pique parted ways after 11 years of relationship and two kids Sasha and Milan. Pique was caught cheating on Shakira with a much younger woman, Clara Chia Marti.

In a recent interview, Shakira opened up about her ex having a tough time with Guardiola’s tenure at Barcelona. She said, “Gerard had a rather complicated relationship with Barca. With Guardiola, he had a super-tense relationship, of ‘you go or I go’. It was a situation that made him suffer a lot.”

Shakira also claimed that Pique was almost convinced that his time at Barcelona was over and was allegedly looking for a permanent move back to Manchester United in 2014 during Luis Enrique’s stint at Barcelona. Shakira claimed that Enrique told Pique that he would be “sat on the bench a lot.“

Although the above-mentioned move to Manchester never materialized. But Pique was always appreciative of his time at Old Trafford. He said, “I learned so much during my time at United. Sharing a dressing room with Paul Scholes, Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Ruud van Nistelrooy, and Ryan Giggs at such a young age was an amazing experience. I didn’t play as much as I would have liked but it was a master’s degree in development both as a player and a person.”
