Shakira transforms into a mermaid while filming her new music video with Manuel Turizo – as ex Gerard Pique breaks his silence on their split
Shakira was hard at work filming her new video clip for her latest hit in collaboration with Manuel Turizo in Barcelona on Thursday.
The Colombian superstar, 46, transformed into a mermaid inside an oversized aquarium with her blonde tresses styled into stunning waves.
The Hips Don’t Lie hitmaker appeared to be hard at work preparing the visuals for Copa Vacia – her new single with fellow Colombian singer Manuel Turizo.
At one point she cut a pensive figure as she performed the tune while taking on the role of a trapped sea creature.
The video comes after Shakira set the internet alight with her tune Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53, which was packed with lyrics taking a swipe at her ex Gerard Pique.

Her appearance on set comes as her ex Gerard Pique broke his silence on the split from the singer, saying he kept quiet previously to protect their children.
The footballer, 36, spoke about his ex-girlfriend and their two sons, Milan, ten, and Sasha, eight, to Spanish newspaper El Pais.
Gerard explained why he had not previously addressed the breakup after he and Shakira announced their split in June, saying it was for the protection of their kids.
He said: ‘Everyone has their responsibility to try to do what is best for their children.
‘It is about protecting them. That is the job of all parents with children. That is what I am focused on and that is my job as a father.’
Elsewhere in the chat he said he is ‘very happy’ following the dramatic changes in his life, including his split with Shakira and retirement from football.
The former Barcelona defender also insisted he’s not concerned about his public image.
