Take a Bow: 16 Years Ago Today, World’s Worst Ever Movie Starring Kim Kardashian Was Released – Its Rotten Tomatoes Score Created History

Kim Kardashian’s first-ever movie stint flopped critically and commercially, staining her portfolio as an actress.

Everyone is aware of Kim Kardashian’s venture into acting when she starred in American Horror Story, and despite all doubts, many fans praised her performance. However, the audience was very unforgiving of one of her earlier works. She starred in the catastrophic 2008 film Disaster Movie helmed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer.

While it is a parody movie, there are many good spoof films out there that truly stand out. This Lionsgate production is both a critical and commercial flop, not to mention a recipient of multiple Razzie awards.

Remembering Disaster Movie, The Worst-Rated Kim Kardashian Movie Ever

In her interview with Trailer Addict, actress and socialite Kim Kardashian admitted Disaster Movie was her first-ever movie project. She has previously starred in television shows, but the prospect of becoming a movie star seemed exciting to her. The experience was enjoyable for the beauty mogul and she’s also proud to be part of its production.

Since it is a parody movie, Kardashian wanted fans to know that they made the film just for fun but also, they designed it as a social commentary performed in a comedic way. “We’re taking all of us popular things that are current issues, just topics going on right now and spoofing them.” Towards the end, she called it “one of the best films” directors Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer have done so far.

Fans are clearly not amused with its story as reflected on its Rotten Tomatoes score. It has an embarrᴀssing 1% critics score and a depressing 21% approval rating from the audience. Out of the 73 critic reviewers, only one somewhat found it entertaining enough to give it a 3.5/5. The majority rated it either 1 or zero.

On its 16th anniversary, fans are reminded of this disastrous Hollywood project. Check out these tweets below:

The directors rarely gave interviews, and they have somehow disappeared from the industry following their streak of critically panned films. Their last released project was 2015’s Superfast!, a parody of the highly successful Fast & Furious franchise.

Kim Kardashian Wasn’t Happy With Her Character’s Fate In Disaster Movie

In a 2017 conversation with US Weekly, Kardashian took back everything she said in her earlier interview. The entrepreneur admitted feeling embarrᴀssed about her death scene in Disaster Movie. Apparently, her character perished after getting crushed by a meteor. “I’m mortified, if you have the clip. I can’t watch,” she said.

Her involvement in the movie may have taught her to be more selective of the projects she agrees on. In fact, she finally redeemed herself after lending her voice to the family-adventure PAW Patrol franchise, a critical and commercial hit among fans.
