If you’re looking for a good study partner, you may want to start by searching for Taylor Swift fans.

A recent survey from College Rover found that Swift is the top artist for students with the highest GPAs, or grade point averages. These high-performing Swifites have GPAs of 3.5 to a perfect 4.0.

Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” at State Farm Stadium on March 17, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona. The city of Glendale, Arizona was ceremonially renamed to Swift City for March 17-18 in honor of The Eras Tour

Swift’s fans are known for being loyal. In fact, some were so upset last year when they tried to buy tickets for her Eras tour on Ticketmaster and the sale was cancelled that they inspired new legislation named after Swift and Bruce Springsteen.

However, she isn’t the only artist that students with high GPAs love, according to College Rover’s research. The Weeknd, SZA and Harry Styles were also high on the list. Swift, the Weeknd and SZA were also popular with female students.

While students with good grades love jamming out to tunes such as “Love Story” and “All Too Well”, they also listen to a lot of classical music when they are studying. Overall, pop was the most popular genre of music to study to. Unfortunately for metal fans, people who listen to that genre during study time were found to have the lowest GPAs.

Most students don’t actually listen to music at all while they study, College Rover said. Only 38% said they do it often and 27% said they always do. College Rover surveyed 1,025 students ages 18 to 23 about their study soundtracks to gather data. It also used Spotify’s API to analyze 48,077 songs in study playlists to discover which tunes correlate with higher academic achievement.

According to YouGov polling, Taylor Swift ranks as the third most famous pop music artist, behind Justin Timberlake and Jennifer Lopez and ahead of Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey. She is also ranked as the 31st most popular pop music artist.
